Danger Of Electromagnetic Fields
In a different article on the topic of EMFs (Why You Should Walk Barefoot), we wrote about the dangers of electromagnetic fields and how to reduce your exposure to them. We’re currently reading another book on the topic and are struck by how little the ‘average’ person understands about what is arguably one of the most harmful aspect of modern living.
As much as we’ve tried to understand fully and ‘translate’ the copy into that of our own terminology, we decided, in the following article, to simply quote certain important excerpts from B. Blake Levitt’s book, Electromagnetic Fields (a book we would highly recommend everyone with an interest in health should buy).
“… Electromagnetism is inherent in the human anatomy. Every time a muscle moves, there are electrical neuronal discharges; brain waves are electrical (they are what an electroencephalogram, or EEG, measures); all the sensory information that moves through the body to the brain is electrical; those chemical messengers called enzymes, which keep the whole organism of the body informed about various aspects of itself, are electrically influenced; cell division is electrical; and the heartbeat is electrical.
Protecting Yourself Against Electro-Magnetic Fields
You are exposed to a tremendous number of electro-magnetic fields these days, particularly in your home. Microwaves, dishwashers, washing machines, kettles, ovens, stoves, radios, PCs, TVs, cell phones and landlines etc. all emit these fields. Sometimes quite a few of these appliances can be running at the same time, compounding our exposure.
Protecting yourself (and most certainly, your children) against these unseen dangers seems absolutely imperative, considering what research is showing the dangers to be (brain tumours, leukaemia and other cancers, to name a few).
There are a number of products on the market currently, that claim to offer protective action against EMFs.
