Can I lose fat by eating fat?

It may be hard to believe, but the answer is ‘yes’! We’ve been made to believe that a high carbohydrate (60% of daily calorie intake), low fat (15%) and moderate protein (25%) diet is the way to stay healthy and slim.  Clearly this is an outdated belief, since the world’s nations are eating less fat than they ever used to, but are experiencing greater incidences of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other lifestyle diseases.  Let’s take a look at the best way to achieve ideal body weight and wellness…

Why should I eat raw food?

Enzymes are your body’s ‘language’.  In effect, they tell the body what to do, when and how, so it’s very important that we have enough of them.  When our diets are high in cooked and processed foods, these foods don’t provide very many enzymes, which means having to ‘steal’ them from the body’s valuable enzyme reserves.

What a man!  He’s come out (at last) in favour of fats and proteins and against heavy carbohydrate use.  Having attended a talk of his a few weeks before I wrote this article, I was delighted by the science he presented, to underscore his opinion.  Ironically – ‘though used for decades throughout the world as a ‘healthy’ food guideline – the food pyramid has its foundation in politics, not science.  This isn’t hard to fathom since the world’s population has been getting fatter and more diseased by the year ... clearly the food pyramid is not the way to go.
