Calm down...
Ah, exercise. Just the thought makes some people break out in a sweat! Let’s get one thing clear - it doesn’t have to involve going to gym. It could be touch rugby, dance lessons, intensive gardening, walking the dog, hiking etc. We also want to bust another myth ... when you do choose to exercise in the gym, you don’t need to spend hours there. We’re up to date with latest research in this field and we know how to help you get strong and healthy, as well as lose significant weight in an effective, long-lasting manner and with fewer hours spent in the gym. No more plodding for hours on a boring piece of equipment...
Physical Assessment
How you benefit:
- develop greater confidence through improved posture
- reduce pain or discomfort levels
- breathe more easily and effectively, improving your daily health and efficiency
- reduce physical stress on your body with small, effective changes
Over a period of time, through everyday movement and activities, some of your muscles will be strong and others weak. This often results in poor posture and bad technique when exercising or performing common tasks.
By using a range of physical tests, we can help you understand whether or not your body is balanced (to be honest, we haven’t ever come across anyone who is – ourselves included!). If it isn’t, we’ll recommend a series of corrective exercises to address this imbalance.
Injury Rehabilitation
How you benefit:
- improve your recovery time
- reduce any potential for future injuries
- enjoy a wider support group of practitioners aiding your recovery
We look at your body as a whole entity, where every imbalance or restriction is most likely to affect not just the joint that the imbalance or restriction is situated around, but also the joint above or below.
Exercise coaching / Personal Training
How you benefit:
- develop a stronger, more mobile body
- experience a greater ability to tackle daily tasks without injury, discomfort or pain
- look, and feel, firmer and more toned
- reduce the potential for movement restriction as you age
This is one-on-one work in the gym, using the information gathered from an initial physical assessment. Because it’s built around your results, it’s personal and specific and thus very effective at helping you achieve your physical goals.
Our programmes always cover four areas of training, namely:
Stability - making sure you develop strength specific to any given joint.
Mobility - ensuring you have full movement in every joint.
Flexibility - restoring good balance to apposing muscles.
Strength - helping you develop muscle tone.
