Tools For Measuring Success
Health Appraisal Questionnaire
Attendees complete an extensive symptom-based questionnaire from which each outcome is plotted onto a graph. The graph indicates areas of low, moderate or high stress in the various body systems tested. These systems include the digestive, liver & gall bladder, endocrine, glucose regulation, cardiovascular, mood, immune, urological, musculoskeletal, brain & central nervous system, as well as the hormonal systems.
From here, one can see which systems are particularly negatively affected and appropriate suggestions for supporting them can be made. This questionnaire can be repeated again and again in order to plot progress.
Metabolic Typing
Each attendee completes a basic Metabolic Typing questionnaire and receives results that offer an understanding of which of the three basic categories he or she ‘belongs’ to, metabolically speaking.
These three categories are:
1) Carbohydrate Types
2) Mixed Types
3) Protein Types
Again, this questionnaire can be repeated at any stage. Since one's metabolic type can change over time, this is a useful tool and ensures that any changing personal fuel needs are timeously recognised.
Other tools for measuring progress with the programme are comprehensive and include:
The diet check record (DCR) sheet - this tool allows delegates to begin to understand their bodies' food language (appetite, emotional wellbeing and energetic wellbeing). Once they can 'read' their bodies, future food choices tend to become more consistently healthy and personalised. The DCR also ensures that any negative food patterns are picked up and can therefore be addressed.
The macro-nutrient symptom sheet - this tool provides a quick checklist to attendees, reminding them of the short term symptoms of meals or snacks that are too high in either carbohydrates or fats/proteins. It offers the chance for instant remedy, and can result in an almost immediate improvementment in mood, satiety and energy levels.
The circadian rhythm indicator sheet - this tool provides for the understanding of a delegate's appetite rhythm, which may change throughout the day. Once the pattern is established and understood, the food choices made can reflect the body's need for certain fuel requirements, resulting in improved energy, emotional wellbeing and post-meal satisfaction.
